It was while attending the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana that the idea for "Counter Culture" was born. While doodling in the margin of her art history book during class, Sullivan began to notice that the shapes were taking the form of a figure standing behind a counter, or barrier. It struck her then that such a scenario is a common occurrence in everyday life and she decided to explore such scenarios through her art work. |
